Richard Gorman was born in Dublin in 1946. He was educated at Trinity College Dublin and Dunlaoghaire School of Art. Recent solo exhibitions include: 'Nine Paintings' Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and Crawford Municipal Gallery of Art, Cork in 2001 and 'Made in Japan' Ormeau Baths, Belfast and Limerick City Gallery in 2000. He has been awarded the Pollock-Krasner Award, New York and Palette D'Or Festival International de Peinture, Cagnes-sur-Mer.
Richard Gorman divides his time between studios in Dublin and Milan and is represented by Kerlin Gallery, Dublin where he shows regularly and at Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast and Yanagisawa Gallery, Tokyo. Forthcoming solo exhibitions in 2003 and 2004 include the Kerlin Gallery, Dublin; Koriyama Museum of Art Koriyama Japan; Center for Contemporary Graphic Art and Tyler Graphic Archive, Fukushima, Japan and Yokohama Portside Gallery, Yokohama, Japan.
