Tideflow B by Felim Egan    Watercolour on paper 42x42cm (2002) © Felim Egan was born in County Donegal, Ireland. He is one of Ireland's leading visual artists. He completed his studies at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1979 and participated in the 1980 Biennale de Paris. In 1984 he exhibited at the Third Eye Centre, Glasgow; the Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin and at ROSC, Dublin. In 1985 he represented Ireland at the Bienal de San Paolo. In 1993 Egan was awarded the Premier UNESCO Prize for the Arts in Paris and in 1997 he received the Gold Award at Cagnes-sur-Mer. Major exhibitions of Egan's work were held in 1995-96 at the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester and IMMA, Dublin and at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam in 1999. In 2002 Felim Egan is exhibiting at Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh; Purdy|Hicks Gallery, London; the Kerlin Gallery, Dublin and KunstRai, Amsterdam. For further information see Felim Egan.ie.
